LunaticPal
This is a small program designed to help convert images to the Dr. Lunatic palette, used by Hamumu games including Supreme with Cheese and Loonyland. When the program is run you are prompted for an input image file and then an output image file. Recommended inputs are BMP and PNG files, but some other formats are supported. The image is converted to the Dr. Lunatic palette and saved in a 256-color BMP file suitable for loading into a game.
A full black color (RGB 0, 0, 0) will be converted into palette entry zero, which counts as transparency in several contexts (tiles, JspEdit). If you want a non-transparent black, use a color close to black (such as RGB 1, 1, 1).
Warning: For images shown with the "Show Pic/Movie" special effect, LunaticPal will give inferior results to image editing software like GIMP. You should only use LunaticPal for tiles, backgrounds, menus, and so on which will appear on-screen at the same time as other graphics.
